Nongshim Shin Ramen Non-Frying Cup 77g: 285 kcal and a Four-Minute Cup Built Without Oil-Frying the Noodles

The easiest way to distinguish **Shin Ramen Non-Frying Cup 77g** from standard Shin Cup is not with wellness language. It is with the manufacturing process.

Nongshim launched the packet Shin Ramyun Non-Frying line in February 2019 and the 77g bowl/cup format in May 2020. The company’s official product page lists the cup at 77g, 285 kcal and six months shelf life.

KCN lists NONGSHIM Shin Ramen Non-Frying Cup Noodle 77g, Korean name 농심 신라면 건면 사발면 77g, barcode 8801043056489, with 16 units per carton. Sixteen 77g units contain 1.232 kg of declared food net weight.

The technical difference is in the noodle. Standard Shin Cup uses fried noodles. Shin Non-Frying Cup uses a non-fried dried noodle, which Nongshim describes as tighter and cleaner in taste, with a texture intended to resemble freshly pulled noodles more closely. That change reduces the calorie load dramatically: 285 kcal for the 77g cup versus 300 kcal for the smaller 65g standard cup and much more for larger fried formats.

That comparison should still be handled carefully. The non-fried product is not “diet food,” and KCN should not add weight-loss or health claims. The manufacturer’s facts are enough: non-fried noodle process, 285 kcal, 77g format.

The preparation is also different from standard Shin Cup. Nongshim instructs the consumer to add the noodle, powdered soup, flakes and vegetable seasoning oil, pour boiling water to the inner line, close the lid and wait about four minutes. Standard Shin Cup is closer to three minutes. That extra minute is connected to the denser non-fried noodle structure.

The inclusion of vegetable seasoning oil is worth noting because “non-fried noodle” does not mean “oil-free product.” The noodle itself is not oil-fried, but the finished meal still contains a seasoning-oil component. That distinction matters if a retailer or consumer interprets “non-fried” too broadly.

KCN’s source data again shows a 16-unit commercial case. A case carries only 1.232kg of food, which makes carton cube important. Rigid bowls are relatively inefficient compared with packet noodles even when the noodle itself is lighter.

For assortment planning, this SKU gives the retailer a genuinely different Shin product architecture. Standard 65g Cup is the classic fried format. Non-Frying Cup is a lighter, slower-rehydrating dried noodle with a different calorie profile. The distinction is technical enough to justify carrying both where shelf space allows.

For KCN, the hard reference is 77g, barcode 8801043056489, 16 cups per carton, 285 kcal, six-month shelf life, May 2020 launch, non-fried dried noodles and four-minute preparation.
