Samyang first released Carbonara Buldak in December 2017 as a limited product celebrating the Buldak brand passing one billion cumulative units sold. The product combined the original liquid Buldak sauce with a powder containing mozzarella cheese powder, cream-flavor powder and parsley. What started as a limited extension became a permanent part of the Buldak range.

KCN’s commercial sheet shows 8 retail multipacks per carton. Each multipack contains four 130g packets, or 520g of food. Eight multipacks therefore contain 4.16 kg of declared food net weight per carton, equal to 32 individual noodle packets.
That is much denser freight than a cup format. A buyer can carry 32 individual servings in one case without the rigid volume of thirty-two bowls. For supermarket pantry sales, the multipack can therefore be more freight-efficient than Carbonara Big Cup even though the consumer loses the cup’s convenience.
The product is a fried noodle with polypropylene packaging. Its six-month shelf life should be checked against the actual export batch, especially because a carton holds 32 servings. Deep case quantities can accumulate inventory quickly.
The dairy element is central to the formula. The original 2017 launch material specifically referenced mozzarella and cream-flavor powder. The importer should therefore treat milk allergens as a core labeling issue and use the current export formulation rather than the old launch recipe as the legal ingredient file.
The product history also explains why Carbonara should not be written up as a recent social-media invention. Samyang commercialized it in 2017. The online attention came after a deliberate product-development decision tied to the expanding Buldak family.
