Nongshim Chapaghetti The Black Cup 90g: A 2024 Cup Built From the 40th-Anniversary Chapaghetti Redesign

Nongshim **Chapaghetti The Black Cup 90g** is not an old Chapaghetti cup with a darker label. The product exists because Nongshim reworked Chapaghetti itself for the brand’s 40th anniversary, then converted that newer packet product into a cup.

NONGSHIM Chapaghetti The Black Cup 90g

Nongshim launched the packet version of Chapaghetti The Black in April 2024. The cup followed on 25 November 2024 after the company said consumer searches and requests showed strong interest in a convenience-store cup format. That origin matters because The Black Cup belongs to a specific reformulation programme rather than to the original 1984 Chapaghetti formula.

KCN lists NONGSHIM Chapaghetti The Black Cup 90g, Korean name 농심 짜파게티 더블랙 사발 90g, barcode 8801043022262, under Cup & Bowl Noodles. Current Korean retail and export trade listings show 16 cups per carton, which means a full case contains 1.44 kg of declared food net weight before the cups and outer carton are added.

The engineering difference is in the noodle and preparation system. Nongshim says The Black Cup uses the thickest dried noodle among its cup-type non-fried noodles, gives the product a stronger wok-fried jjajang character and includes larger garnish pieces. The cup is also designed so the consumer does not need to drain the water. Instead, it is prepared in a microwave, which changes both convenience and the way the sauce develops around the noodles.

That “no-drain” design is worth keeping in the export instructions. Standard Chapaghetti formats often involve draining water before mixing in sauce. An importer that copies generic Chapaghetti preparation text onto The Black Cup can easily give the consumer the wrong method. The translated label should follow the exact 90g cup directions.

Nongshim also positioned the product as a high-calcium item, saying one serving provides roughly 31% of the Korean daily reference value for calcium. That is a product-specific nutritional positioning, but it should not be exported as a claim without checking the destination-market rules and the current label. Nutrition claims are regulated differently from ordinary factual nutrition data.

The 90g cup is a non-fried product, which separates it technically from many classic fried cup noodles. Current Korean nutrition databases list roughly 365 kcal per 90g serving, but KCN should use the exact current pack rather than a third-party database when building a foreign nutrition panel.

For freight planning, 16 rigid cups carry only 1.44 kg of food. The case will therefore be volume-heavy relative to the food weight. KCN should obtain the current gross carton weight and dimensions before a buyer compares The Black Cup with packet Chapaghetti The Black or standard Chapaghetti Big Cup.

The range story is unusually clean. Standard Chapaghetti gives the buyer the long-running core product. The Black gives a newer, thicker-noodle, darker jjajang interpretation. An importer can carry both if the retailer has enough shelf space, but they should not be treated as interchangeable price points.

For KCN, the hard reference is 90g, barcode 8801043022262, 16 cups per carton, with the product launched in November 2024 as the cup version of the 40th-anniversary Chapaghetti The Black line.
