Twelve 1.5-litre bottles equal 18 litres of beverage per carton before the PET, caps and outer carton are added. That is a heavy case by any FMCG standard.
The product story is rooted in maesil, Korean green plum. Woongjin developed the beverage to make the flavor of Korean plum easy to consume in a modern packaged drink format. The company’s export material identifies Green Plum as a signature product and shows the 1.5L size as part of the regular export lineup.
The importer should still distinguish flavor identity from fruit-content claims. “Green Plum” and “plum concentrate” do not automatically tell the buyer the percentage of plum in the finished drink. The exact ingredient declaration should be used for the destination label.
Freight is the biggest commercial question. Eighteen litres per case means even a modest number of cartons can push an LCL shipment into a weight-heavy profile. Shipment records also show the 1.5L x 12 Green Plum format moving internationally, including exports from South Korea to Vietnam, which confirms that this is an established export configuration.
The 1.5L bottle serves a different channel from Woongjin’s 500ml and 180ml packs. It is a household or sharing format rather than a grab-and-go drink. That can make it more efficient per litre at retail, but the importer must compare the final shelf price and warehouse handling.
PET bottle stability also matters. Large bottles need strong cartons and proper palletization. A leaking 1.5L bottle can damage multiple neighbouring cases, so cap integrity and pallet restraint are more consequential than with a 190ml pouch.
